A Swanbourne education is an incredible education and a holistic education in the most genuine sense of that word. We cherish the development that each individual child makes over the course of every day, week, term and year.

On a walk around the school, I will bump into children of all ages from 3 to 13.  I might be congratulating Charlie for reading a million words, Jessie for holding the door open, Ruby for looking me in the eye during a conversation, Tom for gaining a sports scholarship, Poppy for colouring in a unicorn, Aniah for looking after a younger pupil, Sam for holding his head up high during a tricky golf match, Will for showing resilience and getting a Rubble sticker, Max for giving racket ball a go, Leo for writing a thought provoking essay, Liara for building the best den I have ever seen, George for the photos he sent me of his holiday, Risha for listening so well to a story, Holly for scoring 23 runs during a cricket match, Elsa for trying some broccoli or Rhys for finally keeping his top button done up for a whole day!

I will see children in wellies, trainers, black lace ups, astros, ballet shoes, golf shoes, cricket studs, football boots or riding boots. I will see children racing across the grass to get to a science lesson or walking around with their head in a book. Some will have a musical instrument stuck into their rucksack, others will have a tennis racket poking out of the top and many will have both. For some their most treasured possession will be a well-worn tennis ball for others it will be their Rubik’s cube, a conker picked up that morning or their House points tally that just might take them to the House feast at the end of the term. They will begin their time with us starting phonics and discovering mini beasts in the woods and finish with organic chemistry and Shakespeare.
I hope that paints a bit of a picture of what life is like here, the values and ethos or perhaps the culture and atmosphere of this very special school. You can and should expect an amazing academic experience but there is so much more on offer here than just that. The development of character, a love of learning, the idea that there is so much to explore and discover, the ambition and the work it takes be a bit better every day.
In a recent speech I described our community as a mosaic not a melting pot. We are individuals. We learn differently, we all have strengths and weaknesses, likes and dislikes but we come together to form the most fantastic and vibrant picture.
Please come for a visit as I would love to show you what an amazing school this is.

Our values of kindness, curiosity and effort are central to everything we do and they are way markers that keep us all on track.
We are Kind | We are Curious |We try Hard
