At Swanbourne House, Design & Technology (DT) is hands-on, creative and practical.
Pupils work on termly or half-termly projects that take them from design investigation and 3D drawing through to building, testing and evaluation. Each project introduces different materials and techniques, helping children develop a broad range of skills.
Reflection and critical evaluation are built into the process, encouraging pupils to think analytically and refine their work. By their final year, children understand how design links to materials, manufacturing and even marketing, giving them insight into real-world innovation.
Specialist D&T lessons begin from Year 3.
