Swanbourne House pupils on a trip to Iceland

School trip to Iceland

Our Year 6, 7 and 8 pupils were delighted to embark on an adventure to Iceland!

Every day was incredible. They swam in the Secret Lagoon, watched the Northern Lights, walked behind waterfalls and explored glaciers.

Highlights were visiting the Lava Museum, where pupils learned about Iceland’s volcanic past and present, seeing the Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss Waterfalls, Reynisfjara Beach, the village of Vík, and Dyrhólaey, followed by a glacier walk on Sólheimajökull.

Pupils also experienced geysers erupting at Geysir, enjoyed ice cream at the Ice Cream Farm, explored Thingvellir National Park, and crossed the Bridge Between Continents near Gunnuhver Hot Springs.

The trip ended perfectly with hot chocolate and a fun talent show, rounding off an amazing Icelandic trip.

A trip to Bletchley Park | Co-ed Pre-Prep School, Buckinghamshire

Visiting Bletchley Park

We’re fortunate to have the incredible Bletchley Park Trust on our doorstep here in Buckinghamshire. It meant an opportunity for a fascinating day out for our Year 7 pupils, as they explored the world of wartime codebreaking.

The visit included a guided tour and a hands-on workshop, Interception to Intelligence: The Battle of the Atlantic, to bring their Maths and History studies to life. Even the minibus tried to keep us guessing at the end of the day by refusing to start! Fortunately, teamwork and a quick jump lead ensured we cracked that code too!

Our pupils were a credit to our school, engaged, and full of thoughtful questions throughout the day. Their sterling behaviour attracted numerous positive comments from Bletchley Park tour guides and visitors alike.

Through trips like these, we open doors to new experiences and fresh perspectives. From discovering new passions to developing talents and confidence, we encourage our pupils to be curious and embrace every opportunity that comes their way.

Well done, Year 7, for representing Swanbourne House so superbly.

Change Maker Day

Change Maker Day

Our Swanbourne pupils had a fantastic time at Change Maker Day at Stowe School.

Working alongside pupils from Ashfold School and Winchester House School, they took part in a series of exciting challenges, including a crime scene investigation in the science labs. It was a brilliant day of collaboration, curiosity and creativity!

Change Maker Day helps pupils to develop a sense of social responsibility. We encourage them to look beyond their immediate surroundings and consider local, national and global perspectives. We work to instil the confidence, belief and desire to create positive and meaningful change in the world around them.
