Sunrise at Swanbourne

Morning Light on Snow

It’s a quiet January morning as the sun rises, casting fiery colours across the horizon. Swanbourne House catches the golden light, highlighting its familiar shape against the winter sky.

Across the grounds, the fields are lightly covered in the first flurries of snow. Everything feels still, with the space and calm that comes with an early winter morning.

Usually full of activity, today the play areas, climbing frames and the giant, carved wooden seat are snow-dusted. Paths and open spaces look different under their white covering.

Today marks the start of the Lent Term as we welcome back our pupils and staff – some new and some familiar. Soon the playground will be filled with excited voices, laughing children and a flurry of activity as the day gets underway. Wishing everyone a happy and successful New Year!

Celebrating Odd Socks day

Odd Socks Day

We’re all different, and that’s what makes us special!

During November, pupils and staff took part in Odd Socks Day to kick off Anti-Bullying Week and celebrate what makes each of us unique.

At Swanbourne House it’s important for us to spread kindness, embrace our differences, and stand together against bullying.

Muddy Stilettos Review | Swanbourne House Prep School Buckinghamshire

We are incredibly proud to have been featured in the award-winning lifestyle guide, Muddy Stilettos, which reviews the best schools across the UK. Reading their independent private schools review helps prospective parents to get a genuine feel for what makes our school so distinctive. In fact, in the Muddy Stilettos Swanbourne House write-up, we were recognised as one of the best prep schools in Buckinghamshire!

The review shines a light on some of the things that make our school stand out – from our beautiful 55-acre countryside location with woodlands, play areas, sports pitches and outdoor learning centre, to our balanced approach to academics, creativity and wellbeing.  They highlight our boarding house and our strong connections with Stowe School through The Stowe Group, as well as the school’s vibrant co-curricular activities that span sport, music and drama.
