Celebrating Music at Swanbourne House
After a week of heats that saw more than half the school contribute to their house points total, our music concert was a great way to finish off the term.
Across years 3-8 we had an incredible 146 entries in total (including some children who entered on more than one instrument).
We had pianists, singers and performances on the guitar, violin, clarinet, saxophone, flute, drums and trumpet. It was impressive to see the range and depth of Swanbourne musical talent on show.
Music is deeply embedded in the life of Swanbourne House pupils, with over 60% learning an instrument or taking singing lessons – 20% of whom master more than one instrument.
Beyond the classroom, a vibrant co-curricular programme includes clubs for jazz, string, percussion, brass and guitar groups and pupils are given ample opportunity to try out instruments.
Here are our final winners! Congratulations to Jameson House, the overall winner.
